The end

It’s important to end any FELA with a celebration of progress!

5. Check your growth

You’ll do this by using the same assessment that was used in step two and comparing the scores. Then, you can determine whether you met your goal.

Springboard Connect

Springboard Connect is a web app that provides tips, resources, and reminders to support parents as reading coaches to their children. Springboard Connect’s questionnaire helps families target specific reading skills with their child and track progress.

6. Celebrate progress

Whether or not students reach their goals, every team should celebrate their progress. We recommend offering families learning tools as incentives (based on their participation in the workshops and/or practice time at home). Ending with a group celebration helps kids, families, and teachers to crystallize lasting habits. More than six months after each goal-setting cycle has ended, families are still practicing at home every bit as much, every bit as often!
